“The arc of the moral universe in history is long, but it bends toward justice.”
-Theodore Parker
Throughout human history, there have been moments when justice feels elusive, especially for those who suffer from oppression and victimization. This struggle is both real and daunting.
Maintaining dignity, decency, and honor in the face of fear and ignorance, often disguised as strength, is a testament to true resilience.
It is crucial to understand that the abuse of power corrupts not only systems but also the soul. We must acknowledge that both systemic and spiritual failures lead directly to destruction and harm. Though the consequences might take time to surface, they are inevitable.
As conditions transition from sustainable to unsustainable, the degradation of one’s soul will ultimately reach a breaking point. It is essential to contemplate the dystopia our world could descend into if good people choose inaction or become complicit in perpetuating harm.
The future demands that we prepare the next generation to rise above chaos, to reject ignorance, fear, and cowardice, and instead cultivate the skills necessary for intelligent, ethical, and honorable conduct.
Teaching children that they can escape accountability through connections or wealth is a dangerous fallacy. What belongs to Caesar cannot dictate your salvation; no one can purchase or bribe their way into heaven.
Just because a liar is not instantly punished, or a criminal does not face immediate consequences, does not negate the heavy burden of immorality on their soul.
The Lord's judgment is swift, fair, and just, just as our conscience is our compass.
Even when our compass is damaged and compromised, our conscience will still bend toward justice; for the heart cannot evade the weight of guilt from wrongdoing, and the energy of the soul will reflect this in the fluctuation of light or darkness from the holiness or unholiness of thoughts and actions.
As our conscience bends toward justice, so too will history follow and bend towards justice. It may take time, but people will eventually learn from their mistakes, especially when tempted by power rather than a sense of duty toward the Lord and humanity.
Jesus Christ provides the ultimate wisdom, demonstrating that the lessons of peace are intricately linked to prosperity. Acting against these teachings, fueled by hate and harm, inevitably leads to destruction and poverty.
In the journey of life, it takes time for individuals to confront their mistakes, to confess, repent, and take corrective action. They must have the courage to redeem themselves and return to a state of grace, honor, decency, love, and peace.
We must hope that these crucial lessons will be understood before we spiral too deep into a dystopian nightmare, risking the collapse of our systems of prosperity and the integrity of our souls.
In the meantime, we each must do our duty, our small part in the mystery of life because we never know when the Lord will call us home or to step to the plate and defend and save our world and humanity from destruction.
In the end, we only have to please the Lord.
