Why is it important to have purity of heart?  

What happens when, after your days on earth are over and you never see the Lord?

Sexual abuse crimes are the most heinous, because the sinner becomes impure, mind in the gutter and soul unclean, never to enter heaven and see the Lord.

Why do these crimes not rise to the same level of unholy sins as described in scriptures?  

Probably because of the constant grooming, downplaying of sins and complicit blind eye to sins (corruption); and the turning away from the truth, the way and the life.

How can one receive the Holy Spirit and have salvation in a completely unclean and sinful state of mind and soul?
