Where should your loyalty be?
The Lord should have your primary loyalty followed closely by humanity (Love the Lord, Love thy neighbor).
If you are divided by questionable loyalties of serving two masters where one master is that of Caesar or Satan then you do not serve the Lord or humanity.
Too often blind loyalty allow for harm and continuous injuries.
If you cover up sins or crimes, then corruption and Satan rule.
Those sins and crimes will continue, escalate and it will end up victimizing another generation.
It becomes about what bad practices, behaviors and crimes hypocrites can get away with instead of walking the walk (narrow way) and working toward salvation.
