In Sun Tzu's The Art of War, subversion is about breaking an enemy's resistance from within without engaging in direct battlefield combat.

It is hailed as the highest form of excellence: to subdue the enemy without fighting is the greatest victory.

Disintegration from within means secretly weakening an adversary's societal structures, morale, and leadership rather than using overt force.

Sadly, today, 2500 years later, destabilizing an enemy often involves crippling its economy.  At first glance, this seems like a winning strategy, but a closer look reveals that the world economy is highly interconnected.

One country has customers worldwide, including global trading partners.  When you destabilize one country, it impacts another, then another down the line.

A recession in one nation can quickly spread, leading to a global downturn.

For instance, the 1929 U.S. stock market crash wiped out large fortunes and shattered market confidence.  By 1931, the recession had spread across the world, plunging global economies into deflationary collapse, eventually causing the Great Depression.

International trade plummeted by over 50% to 60%, agricultural prices dropped by 40% to 60%, and over 30 million people worldwide became unemployed by 1932.*

That was just in 1932.  Today, global trade is even more interconnected, and most countries are heavily invested in it.

During COVID-19 shutdowns and reopening phases, the U.S. recovered faster because it had a stronger economy initially.  Many other countries struggled because their economies were less resilient at the start.

Because the world is our marketplace.  If one customer cannot afford our goods, we lose that customer.  If two cannot, we lose two.  Fewer countries able to buy means lower global purchasing power, which drags down the world economy.

The point is, subverting other countries destabilizes their economies, and ultimately harms your own.  If your economy is already weak, such actions intensify economic pressures.

Moreover, if your country operates within an unsustainable economy, any global recession or trade disruption will cause exponentially greater damage.

So, even if you think subverting an enemy is a good idea, any victory you achieve will likely bring greater losses, especially if your economy is fragile.

The same logic applies to harming others through unholy acts, thinking you’ll get ahead or win in life while losing your soul.

The more harm you do in winning, the greater the sins and the toll on your soul, which will ultimately cost you your salvation.

Even if you win, you will lose. And even more likely, lose faster and more than you ever imagined.  😱.

Ah, those less than 30 percenters, playing on the one-tenth square of Caesar’s chessboard, shuffling nonsense around as if it were gospel, investing it all in dystopian schemes, killing dreams, all for the mirage of absolute power and control absolutely.  

Were I able to travel back in time, forewarn their likes of the serious consequences, I doubt it would make a drop of difference, because I still would be a minority amongst the minorities, never to be taken seriously.  

If I were to travel back to the 1930s, I doubt I would be granted admittance to see the emperor of Japan to speak my words of dire warning.  

And if by some happenstance I was able to see him and speak, would he heed my “predictions” of the future?

If I were to say there is no way the royal majesty that you can ever conquer China, that your over 210,000 subjects in Hiroshima and Nagasaki would suffer fates worse than death, that between 2.1 million and 3.1 million will die before you lose the war, and that Japan would be in shambles, would he believe?*   

I doubt it. Because why would those in thrall to power and mesmerized by the might of conquest ever deem to look at anything or anyone else?

Should I even bother to forewarn Nazi Germany, especially when I am neither blond nor white nor blue-eyed, and my head would be cut off before I even speak?

And if by some miracle I survived, would it do any good to say I know what your future will be, that death by suicide would be your determined end, that 5.3 million of Germans would die, that the serious consequences of the war was an economy totally shattered and devastated, and tens of millions of the German people faced starvation amidst the rubble ruins that once their cities, factories, and homes?**  

Why would the less than thirty percenters listen, especially when their complete comprehensive analysis must be completely accurate and 100 percent right at their total perceived senses of less than thirty percent?  

Why consider the rest of the 70 percent of the senses of perception when the battle plans are already drawn, calculated to the T, set in stone?  

Of course China could be conquered within 3 months; the superiority of our meticulous battle plans says so. After all, we know ourselves, our superior strengths; we know our enemy, especially their weaknesses.  

Was it true? Of their calculations, analytical perfection, and superior forces? Was China conquered during WWII?

What can you say to them, those Art of War experts, that cannot hear and see and read only the future in mirages of what is desired and not what is to be?

*The survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki suffered long-term illnesses and infrastructure collapse. 90 percent of the doctors and nurses were killed or injured; 3 of 45 hospitals remained standing. 😱.

The devastation was so great it took them 2 years just to restore basic infrastructure, though rebuilding continued well into the 1950s.

As for the rest of the empire, Japan lost them all, thus cutting them from essential food and resources, leaving its economy completely devastated.  

Hyperinflation, bankrupt institutions, and severe physical destruction caused massive starvation and malnutrition in its urban population.  

**The period immediately after WWII (1945-1948) in Germany was known as the Hunger Years.  

Virtually the entire urban population of Germany, numbering tens of millions of people, was at risk of starvation. 😱.
