✴️

History is temporarily written by the victor, but preserved and sustained by humanity.

Sooner or later, we answer to humanity for our crimes against it or our contributions to it.

For example, history written at the time of Jesus Christ's crucifixion would have viewed the high priest Caiaphas and those guilty of Jesus’ death favorably. However, two thousand years later, those responsible are among the most infamous and despised, while Jesus is the most revered.

And believe it or not, we will all have to answer to the Lord one day, either for our crimes, harms, and sins or for our contributions, deeds, and grace.
