✝️

There will come a time, as foretold in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, when people will turn away from "sound doctrine" to seek those who tell them what their "itching ears want to hear," wandering off and leading them astray with "myths."

We are warned that false prophets will appear in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves, identifiable by their actions (Matthew 7:15-16).

Shepherds, including church elders, are expected to guide, care for, protect, and lead the flock away from myths, ravenous wolves, and false prophets (Acts 20:28, John 10:12-13).

Shepherds who fail and give in to false teachings - twisting scripture to justify sin, hate, or any myth, including that of Caesar -are to be condemned (Galatians 1:8).

It is impossible to stay on the path of salvation while involved in myths, just as it is impossible to gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles (Matthew 7:16).

Shepherds must ensure that their sheep are on the path of salvation and are properly cared for and protected against false prophets, myths, and ravenous wolves.

Otherwise, shepherds themselves will face condemnation and punishment from the Lord (Ezekiel 34:9-10, Jeremiah 23:1-4, Matthew 25:31-46).
