The Sword in the Stone, also known as Destiny I, from the Arthurian legend, was enchanted with the stone for a magical test of destiny and worthiness, which determined that only a worthy and destined leader could pull the sword from its stone.
Much like Arthur, each individual is endowed with a divine destiny and purpose under heaven, which is matched to their talents and gifts.
Each person is expected to demonstrate their love of the Lord and prove their worthiness through acts of good deeds.
We draw out our Sword of Spirit, a sword of light, from an inert state of grace to carry out acts of bravery in defense of all that is good and holy (Ephesians 6:10-18).
Each time the sword of light is drawn, it becomes a test of worthiness and bravery.
Upon completing the test, regardless of the outcome – win or lose, we meet at that moment in time our destiny—success in bravery or failure in cowardice.
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).”
Either we rise to meet the Lord’s purpose and command, or we fail in disgrace.
The good news is that every day is a new day to reaffirm our commitment to the Lord, demonstrate our love and purpose, and draw from the Light of Love.
