I find it troubling that I needed to fact-check his responses and those of his spokesperson regarding his life threatening remarks against Liz Cheney.
Their answers were nothing but nonsensical lies.
I am unsure why I still held out the faintest hope that he would act decently and admit he has gone too far, too extreme.
Once again, he disregarded the red lines of decency and honor.
I feel let down and disappointed by this unfortunate excuse for a human being, who consistently fails to do the decent, right, honorable, or brave thing.
He cannot acknowledge when he is wrong—very wrong—and pivot away from harmful remarks, mean-spirited behavior, and violent tendencies characterized by shame and dishonor.
Instead, he keeps doubling down, moving from bad to worse to terrible to horrific to heinous acts.
Threatening a person's life with execution is unacceptable, regardless of political disagreements or any other reasons.
Furthermore, scapegoating an innocent and vulnerable group—this time a woman—to incite hate and misogyny while deflecting blame for his campaign's incompetence and disasters is sheer cowardice.
Once again, I am left aghast at his total lack of empathy, compassion, and care for his fellow Americans and fellow Republicans.
The harm caused by his spoiled and thoughtless, uncaring, and intentionally hurtful actions affects the victims of his misplaced rage, simply because he cannot accept responsibility for his own hurtful behavior.
And I am left to ask once again, when will he man up and take responsibility for his own actions, however hurtful?
And once again I am left disappointed and embarrassed for the American people that such a disqualifying, dishonorable, perpetually lying person represents any aspect of our diverse society and free democracy.
I hope our responsible and real leaders can well protect the people, vulnerable groups, and women from threats of life and harm, defend the Constitution and democracy from threats internal and foreign, and represent the American people in the way we deserve to be represented with decency, bravery, and honor.
