Babel

Once, as the story goes, the human race spoke one language.

But God became angry when people tried to build the Tower of Babel.

The Lord scattered the people all over the earth and confused their languages so they would not understand each other, so they would stop building in Babel*.

Do not let the differences in language and human scatterings around the world confuse the point that we all belong to the human race and are children of God.

Changes in skin color from adaptation to different climates does not change the fact that we are all of the human race, created by the Lord.

Hate stemming from fear or exploitation of others in slavery are but trappings in superficial differences.

When we die, we present not our race or skin to the Lord, but our hearts and souls; hopefully full of love, peace and purity- free from hate, fear and depravity.

Therefore, to understand another beyond our many differences, we have to learn to speak in the universal language of love.
