Kindred,

Yes, the last two years have felt surreal, like a Twilight Zone movie, but without the Twilight.

Where the characters choose to drink snake oil over taking real cures and choose snake oil salesmen over real doctors.

Then when the inevitable happens in drinking snake oil, instead of taking a real cure, tragedy strikes.

Somehow the characters manage to not figure out the real reason why tragedy struck from drinking snake oil without protection in a deadly pandemic.

Guess the characters were too busy getting riled up in hate and misinformation to care or think about the outcomes or how to fight the contagion.

Guess also too busy with the blame game to know.

What good is hate or blame? Will it cure sickness or disease? Prevent death?

Perform miracles and raise people from the dead?

And after two years, one would imagine someone would ask what is wrong with this picture?

But no one does ask and nothing seems wrong to them.

Meanwhile the virus mutates into more variants, becoming even more efficient at breaking through our defenses and we do not even bother to adapt or update our thinking.

No longer is the disease an affliction of the elderly, younger generations are now impacted too.

In the United States alone, approximately 1,000 children (ages 0-17) have died, over 6,000 young adults (ages 18-29), near 18,000 (ages 30-39), over 40,000 (ages 40-49), nearly 200,000 (ages 50-64), over 728,000 elderly (ages 65 and older) from COVID-19 as of March 30, 2022.*

COVID-19 impacts all age spectrums, yet many still view it as a problem for the elderly.

How many must die before it is viewed as a problem and a problem for all of humanity?
