Kindred,
Judgement Day is the Lord's sorting of that person into her or his proper and deserved place.
It is not based on that person's personal belief or desire; you can believe or desire to enter heaven, but it does not mean you will.
The decision is the Lord's.
Many believe that all one has to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and salvation is theirs.
But Jesus Christ stated, "Not everyone who calls me 'Lord, Lord' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those that do what my Father in heaven wants them to do.
When the Judgement Day comes, many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord! In your name we spoke God's message, by your name we drove out many demons and performed many miracles!'
Then I will say to them, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you wicked people!'
- Matthew 7: 21-23
Note that Jesus states "only those that do what my Father in heaven wants"; therefore, we know we have to do something and whatever we do have to be in line with what the Lord in heaven wants (not what you want).
In other words, what you do matters and it must follow the Lord's expectations and commandments.
What do you think the Lord in heaven want for you to do and what is the Lord's expectation of you?
It is the belief of this author that there are different pathways to enlightenment and spiritual understanding. The hope is to develop positive connections and relationships.
