Recovery Process

The recovery process is a process; therefore, it is long and arduous like a marathon, and will have its ups and downs (not a straight upward or downward trend).

Actually, the recovery process feels closer to a rehabilitation process rather than recovery.

Rehabilitation is "the process of helping a person who has suffered an illness or injury restore lost skills and so regain maximum self-sufficiency."

If feels like we have suffered losses in self-sufficiency; and these losses can range from having to deal with job loss, food insecurity, traumatic illnesses, death and crimes against humanity.

We cannot hope to recover, to regain our standing in the world and with the Lord, without first restoring our humanity, rebuilding our soul and good character and actually following the Commandments of Jesus Christ to love.

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see the Lord."                                - Matthew 5:8  Without a pure heart...
