Dear Kind Kid,
Not to put a drag on your special day, but I am worried,
concerned and still fretting about a conversation we had in my car years ago about
power and having power.
I am not sure
you remember, because you were so young.
I am not sure I said the right words then and I am not sure I am writing
the right words now.
I could lecture you about power and ignorant power
trips, but I have a feeling you know more about this subject than I do now.
I will just say that power is not wisdom or
understanding, and it is definitely not happiness.
I wish you to live a full life, full of wonder and
happiness, and the pursuit of the kind of happiness that only comes from love
and peace, kindness and consideration in service of the world, humanity and the
Lord.
Happy Kind Kid’s Day!
