Remember the frog and scorpion fable?
There are actually people that deliberately work against one's own self-interest to the point of destruction.
Strange, but true.
It is against one's own interest to end up in hell, to be on the wrong side of the Lord, but some people sin all the time, turn their character negative, rot their souls and corrupt their minds, then wishfully believe themselves saved and forgiven without confession of sin(s), repentance or atonement.
Destruction, sickness and death is against one's own self-interest and the self-interest of the world, yet there are some who believe in the chaos of it; that by gaining power through fear, hate, abusive and sinful means it will allow them control the world.
But when all the negatives come back home to roost, it is the home country and self that is in jeopardy of self-destruction in out of control misconduct of hate and sins, crime, sickness and death.
The responsibility for whether one receives salvation is up to the individual.
Sinful conduct and shameful misconduct, will lead the individual to destructive acts, corruption and sins; and ultimately to hell.

Are you a servant of the Lord, steward of humanity, the people and the world or not?
